The Laboratory module automates the investigation request and the process involved in delivering the results to the concerned department/doctor of the hospital. Test report can be made confidential. Tests can be performed only after the billing is done. This rule is exempted when the case is declared as Urgent. In addition, this module facilitates investigations for referral patients.

The radiology module covers the processes starting FROM the booking of appointments of the modalities against the investigation requests raised by doctor TO delivering the results to the ordering doctor of the hospital. HIMS radiology module is completely compatible with the imaging technologies used by radiologists and offers Smart methodologies for the radiologists to interpret and infer results reducing their time consumption and effort. The EMR Module is a fully integrated knowledge repository that caters to Medical and clinical records of patients in the hospital. This module assists the hospital kitchen in catering an appropriate and nutrition rich diet to the inpatients. The dietician in collaboration with the treating doctor can prescribe a diet that suits the physiological condition of a patient. Ordering and monitoring of patient diet are the primary obligations of this module. Salient features :

• For each day, based on the bed occupancy and the type of meal scheduled, a list of items to be prepared will be generated to be handed over to the hospital kitchen
• Provision to categorize food item into groups for ease of recommendation

House Keeping Module

Housekeeping module targets complete automation of the housekeeping events. Planning, assigning and tracking of housekeeping activities can be done effectively with the aid of our housekeeping module. Auto scheduling maintenance activities of beds, rooms, cubicles and other areas of hospital at predefined intervals so that the hospital environment remains clean, comfortable and safe. The module has rights to lock the bed so that it is not allotted to the next patient until it is cleaned reducing chances of allotting uncleansed bed. Salient features :

HIMS emergency module also has provision to capture medico legal details if relevant (in case of medico legal cases). Emergency management will encompass the following features :

CENTRAL STERILE SUPPLY DEPARTMENT

CSSD or Central Sterile Supply Department is an important and crucial function of most of the mid-size and large hospitals. In certain countries, CSSD is even mandatory to meet with the government stipulations for hospital license etc. Items to be sterilized are received and stored by CSSD before they are sterilized and distributed to related departments such as wards, OPD, OT etc. Surgical tools and instruments, tools used for operation, syringes, catheters/tubes/other rubber goods, treatment sets etc. are sterilized by CSSD before and after use, wherever applicable. Features :

• CSSD module in our software helps users to have the inventory information of items that need to be sterilized, in the form of packs/sets or individual quantity, by keeping track of such items received/issued to departments like OT, Cath Lab, ICU,Emergency and Ward in a hospital

Blood Bank

This module in the HIMS hospital Management Software is quite comprehensive in its nature, maintaining all information regarding the blood donation. The details about the donors and recipients are maintained. The module is linked to other modules in the software for wards and OT in the hospital, whereby, any and all blood requirement during surgeries etc. that happens in the hospital are known to the bank. Important information and parameters such as availability of blood, cross-matching between donor’s and recipient’s blood groups and blood transfusion reactions are recorded. Also, the interactions with other blood banks within a hospital or outside and delivery/receipts of blood bags between these banks or hospitals are recorded and maintained. The Fixed Assets Module deals with all the activities that are related to the Fixed Asset Part of Financial Accounting of any hospital management system software. HIMS module ensures the activities like identifying an item as a fixed asset and then allocating specific depreciation on that asset, managing the movement of the asset, Maintenance of the asset, Revaluation and Disposal etc., are monitored regularly.

Depreciation based on any of the popular depreciation methods. Straight-line method or reducing balance method is the two important Asset Depreciation methods followed.

Financial Accounting

The Financial Accounting Module deals with Cash/Bank, Receipt/Payments, Journal Voucher and General Ledger etc. Books like Cashbook, Bankbook and Ledger book can be generated. This module generates reports like Trail Balance, Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statement. The Financial Accounting Screens describe about the Account Payable, Account Receivable and General Ledger. Also describe the activities related to IP, OP, Bank related activities and provision to clearing the Supplier Invoice and keep track of the Account Receivable and Revenue related activities. The services that are covered by the sponsor companies, Insurance Agencies, Family Accounts, Individual Accounts, sponsorship details of the patient, Health Card Insurance are recorded in the system.

Payroll

The Payroll & Personnel module deals with Pay (and deduction) calculation, printing of salary slip, salary certificates, and PF statements, Gratuity Statement and provides a monthly analysis.

It deals with the maintenance of employee bio-data, Attendance / Overtime details.

It also reports on absenteeism, leave encasements etc. The Personnel & Payroll department is responsible Employee Related Activities like appointing the staff, maintaining the employee database, Fixing allowances and deductions, Leave entitlements, Leave sanctions, Loan, Termination Process, Maintenance of Hospital documents, Insurance details, Tenancy Contracts and Vehicle Registration.

Application setup

The application setup module deals with security. This module defines access control to the information available in the application. All user groups have spate access rights for modules. Any user associated within a user group can access only those screens for which the user group has rights. It also deals with the System Related Activity like User Monitor, Creating User Group Master, User Master and view the User Group Lookup of employee database, Maintenance of company documents, User defined error message, Generating Daily Statistical Summary.

Clinical Pathways & Order Sets

Clinical Pathways

Clinical Pathways is a comprehensive treatment care plan and a leap towards standardization of health care planning which is evidence based. The defined pathways could be linked to specific ICD diagnosis codes and applied to the patient encounter based on the diagnosis.

In HIMS, a pathway is a time line based care plan that prompts the user as to what action can be taken and when, for effective patient care. HIMS allows defining organization specific pathways and they could be provider specific also, if required.

A clinical pathway will have care components such as lab, radiology, physiotherapy etc., Medication orders, nursing interventions orders, referral for specialist consultation and procedural interventions. The mentioned care components of the pathway are added with specific time lines. The care components could also be conditional, involving clinical parameters of the patient such as vitals, results of laboratory investigations, medical observations like pain. HIMS also allows capturing variations in the patient care from the defined pathway, with reasons. This helps in analyzing the effectiveness and applicability of the pathways and to improve them.

Order Sets HIMS offers order sets as a set of services which could be ordered in one go rather than individually. An order set can have services of different types such as laboratory, radiology, physiotherapy, procedure or treatments, medications, referrals for specialist consultations, nursing interventions etc.
